A Future in Sewing Skills For Martha Ramosa
In a short space of time, opportunity has knocked twice on Martha Ramosa’s door.
A mother of three, Martha took the initiative and successfully googled to find a place where she could receive training and improve her sewing skills.
She joined the Masakhane Sewing Project of Stellenbosch Crafts Alive under the directorship of Anna Kruger.
The second knock of good fortune came when Anna enrolled Martha as a clothing and textile trainee with the Craft and Design Institute on a one-year SETA- accredited training course in sewing and pattern-making skills.
Martha now divides her time between learning and training at CDI and practicing
her newly acquired skills at Crafts Alive in Stellenbosch in a conducive and safe environment.
Martha is diligent and precise in her work. She dreams of one day running her own business, designing and creating innovative fashion products.
She also would like to pass on the skills she has acquired through training and practice over the years and helped someone else to become a successful entrepreneur.
