Nana Wagner's Story
Nana Wagner, a translator by training, is well-read and versatile by nature.
She has been involved in fine craft art, music, theatre and community projects in Stellenbosch for more than four decades. She was the director and artistic director of the Stellenbosch Music Festival for 18 years.
Nana Wagner is currently a curator for iThemba Craft Art and a member of the Advisory Board of Stellenbosch Crafts Alive, a social enterprise.
In recent years, Nana Wagner has channeled her creative energy and artistic expression into one-of-a-kind handprinted textiles as well as working with wool and transforming out-of-the-box ideas into works of functional art.
She enjoys teamwork in the spirit of ubuntu and writing stories for children.
Her work is primarily inspired by Africa’s wildlife. Its well-being and that of the community she lives in is close to her heart.
